Sooooo... Our first blog on the new website and immediately a DIKKE announcement!
This Friday, September 6 is the day: We, Handpan Studio, Deniz and Joris A.K.A. Panne Dua, and also known on the street as "the handpan boys", will enter the stage of Holland's Got Talent. This is a special moment, not only for us as artists, but also for the handpan who will now be heard and seen on a major national stage.... Will we get the redeeming word from the holy jury that we have "talent," or can we dream on?
Although the handpan is currently known for the meditative vibe surrounding it, with Panne dua and Handpan Studio on Holland's Got Talent, we want to show that there is a whole other side to the instrument... MUSIC!

In the past decades we, Panne Dua, have performed our special sounds on countless stages, from the Palais de Tokyo to the Palace on the Dam! But this is another unique one. And then of course the almighty question arises: Do we get the chance to shine in the finals? Or is it really "exit" for the boys?
One thing is for sure, playing in the preliminary round of Holland's Got Talent was a special experience to say the least! Because how does it go? With nerves worth mentioning we entered the stage and the big mouth and easy talks of Deniz were a little less present this time haha. And where Deniz was prepared for the large hall and the present audience Joris had to look twice and scratch behind his ears, he had not read well enough. Haha but we made a show of it.
With a big smile and fat fun we popped the song Aquarius (Lo-fi version to listen on spotify starting Friday!) from our fingers. Everything was going slick, it felt good and the energy was delicious. And then. The solo! DAMN, something went wrong. After practicing the song 999 times, it can only go wrong once, LIVE ON TV. Ah yes... That's also part of the game.
The combination of the pressure of performing in front of an audience of millions and the responsibility of performing the handpan for the first time on such a large stage made it an unforgettable day.
Apart from some extra fame for Panne Dua, we also hope especially for a rise for the handpan in the Netherlands. Through Holland Got Talent, the instrument will land in the living rooms of millions of people this Friday and hopefully it will find its way into the hearts of many, as it did with us.
Don't miss it! Switch Friday nights at 8 p.m. on RTL.
